Favorite childhood memory
Can you remember that special piece of clothing or fashion item that you cherished or adored during your childhood?
We had a discussion about our favorites at Ledum Atelier.
Our memories included a fur-trimmed wool dress, a red knit cardigan with a very glamorous jewel button, a cotton summer-skirt that had tones of pastels in the print, a pair of soft angora gloves with a matching scarf, and last but not least, a casual top that had puffed sleeves and metallic threads. During the discussion, we discovered that each of us had a different reason as to why we liked each item. Whether it was the color, the shape, the way it smelled, or how it felt to the touch, the memory of each piece remains so vivid in our minds. It made us feel proud and satisfied when we wore them.
Although these special childhood pieces may only be a distant memory now, they have left a lasting impression on each of us. These pieces affected us in so many positive ways, as well as help shape our taste level as adults in other areas of art and design.
When children get to wear their favorite clothes, it helps them feel better about themselves. It’s wonderful to see them broaden their scope of choices and selection.
At Ledum, we feel responsible to create not only the clothes that our children will remember, but also be a part of our children’s narrative by creating beautiful clothing that they can wear today, while nourishing their memories that will inspire their taste level and self-esteem in the future.
